November 14, 2005 I have enjoyed the "Godzilla" music done by Michiru Oshima so bought this CD expecting more of the same type music. Nothing could be further from the truth. I have only listened to this CD once so far but nothing really reached out and grabbed me except track 5 which is the Godzilla track I've heard before. Maybe I expected too much or need to listen a few more times before this CD starts to grow on me. Most of the stuff here is slow and dreamy rather than the harsher themes from her Godzilla music. I'm not saying this is a bad CD, only not what I expected. Fans of Michiru Oshima who have heard other music by her may like this CD very much. I plan to listen a few more times as soon as I have the free time to see if my mind changes any. |
