REVIEW |
September 02, 2023 Bukimisha commemorates the 50th Anniversary of "Godzilla vs. Gigan" (1972) with an a capella recording of the film's soundtrack. What makes the soundtrack for "Gigan" unique is its usage of stock music from some of Ifukube's previous Toho scores, as well as 2 cues from Expo '70's Mitsubishi Pavilion exhibit (which Ifukube also scored). As with all of their previous recordings, Bukimisha does an amazing job of emulating the music cues with their unique vocal arrangements, and it is interesting (and great fun) to hear how they adapt the themes from some of Ifukube's non-sci-fi scores that appear in the film. As a side note, the CD insert opens to reveal a photo of the Misubishi Pavilion from Expo '70. Bukimisha CDs are available to non-Japanese buyers through BOOTH (The International Indie Art Marketplace) by using a proxy service or other intermediary: https://bukimisya-maal.booth.pm/ |
