May 30, 2024 This CDR is Bukimisha's 8th a cappella presentation of music from the "Pretty Cure" anime series - specifically, "Tropical-Rouge! Pretty Cure", which is the 18th installment in the Toei Animation franchise. Fans of the series will certainly enjoy Bukimisha's vocal treatment of these songs, but even listeners who are unfamiliar with Pretty Cure will find the performances captivating. The vocals are lively and multi-layered, with dense harmonies and an almost jazzy feel. But the most striking aspect is hearing the songs, which are normally performed in a high-pitched, hyperactive style by female vocalists, sung in deep, resonant tones by the Bukimisha male chorus. One can easily imagine them singing the heroic anthem, "We Are Space Pilots", from the film GORATH (1962).
