REVIEW |
October 27, 2006 Disc 1 starts off with a very familiar track we've heard on several other CD's, the always fun, very upbeat "Godzilla & Jet Jaguar: Punch! Punch! Punch!". Several of the other tracks have also been heard before but here also have rare alternate versions. Exclusive to this CD is the almost five minute "Get (50 monsters roaring)" track. It's a strange track with monster roars, sound effects, dialogue and bits of music. It sounds as if it was scripted to include all this stuff, possibly for release as a children's record at some point. I didn't count but seriously doubt there were 50 monsters roaring on that track. The music sounded very 70's. The longest track, track 14 "Tale (from GODZILLA VS HEDORAH)", seems to be a 14:14 excerpt from the movie complete with dialogue and sound effects. Disc 2 starts off with 3 long episodes of something called "Crack Monster Unit" containing very little music but lots of dialogue and sound effects. Not understanding Japanese and having no visuals, these tracks don't do much for me. The rest of the tracks are from "Zone Fighter" and are mainly pleasant mid tempo male vocals. They do get a bit repetitious since many of the tracks are just slightly different versions of the same song. Overall this is a nice 2 CD bonus set. |
