REVIEW |
January 23, 2004 I saw this CD last month while doing a search for Godzilla on one of the Japanese CD sites. It came up in the search because of the last track on this CD. Since I sometimes like Japanese pop music, it was inexpensive and I was ordering other items anyway I decided to take a chance on it. It's a hard CD to really describe because it seems to be a combination of many musical styles and influences. The first track starts out with some heavy, boomy, bass that reminds you a bit of techno music. Most of the music seems pretty much a cross between heavy metal and punk. There is even one track with what sounds like flamenco guitar work. The last track,"Godzilla (remaster ver)", which is why this CD is even listed here is pretty well done. Starts and ends with some nice sound effects of Godzilla's footsteps and roars with a heavy instrumental in between. This is the same track done by a few other groups on this site and is very fast paced and at times manic. Over all I enjoyed this CD and was glad I took a chance on it. However unless you are into Japanese pop with a heavy metal/punk flavor, this may not be for you. |
