REVIEW |
Feb. 19, 2000 This is a pretty decent sounding CD with a good mix of musical styles. The disc is a mixture of Mono and Stereo tracks with Tracks #4, 6, 7, 8, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19 & 20 being in Stereo. Track #1 starts off with a feel of live big band era jazz. The type you might hear in a nightclub in the 40's or 50's or maybe even earlier. It then segues into a Mexican/Spanish Flamenco sounding tune which then becomes a march and finally strains of the song "Born Free". Track #2 sounds like jazz harmonica. Track #3 brings us some Sci-Fi sounding music with pieces of Star Trek music. Track #4 is a slow moving, romantic sounding track. Some of the tracks here are duplicates of tracks heard on the "Film Music By Masaru Satoh" series on SLC records. The last few tracks are suspense type tunes. I enjoyed this CD. It offered a wide variety of music types and would be great to have playing as background music or while sitting back and relaxing. |
