This CD certainly won't be for everyone. There is NO music of any kind on this CD with the exception of the Bonus track, #99, which is a track of Akira Ifukube's "BATTLE IN OUTER SPACE" march used in a Hitachi commercial. What you do have is a large collection of sound effects and monster noises from a very wide variety of Japanese films. If that's what you are looking for, grab this CD. If you are just a casual listener and have no need for these monster noises and sound effects, then stay away. What I hear on this CD seems to encompass a wide variety of films and is not limited to the Godzilla films although they are generously represented here. They certainly didn't shortchange this CD in any way since it contains 99 tracks and a running time of just over 72 minutes. Additional review courtesy of David Hirsch The ultimate collection of monster roars, spaceship zooms, teleportation chambers and killer death rays. Previously presented on a double disc set several years ago, the audio slates (for professional use) have been removed and everything from Godzilla (1954) to 2004's Godzilla Final Wars is included. Much of the early material was used in Tsuburaya's "Ultraman" series. I always got a kick out of the King Ghidorah roar used as the ring tone for the Science Patrol's phone. Shades of today's wireless phones! You can have a lot of fun using the "Matango" laugh (later used for Alien Baltan) to creep people out when you get a call! |
