Japan has become one of the foremost countries in developing contemporary music and this interesting selection provides an ideal entry point for the newcomer. The works are by Akira Ifukube (Piano Suite) 1934, Maki Ishii (Beyond a Distance), Sawako Tamaru (Suishoren), Akira Nishimura (Three Visions) and Mamoru Jujieda (Gyro-Tango).
